Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is a surgical procedure on the cornea for nearsight (Myopia), farsight (Hyperopia) and Astigmatism. It changes the shape of the cornea to allow light coming in to focus more clearly on the macula of the retina. LASIK can reduce or eliminate the need for eyeglasses or contact lenses.
With over 25+ years of experience evaluating eyes for LASIK and providing pre-operative and post-operative care on more than 15,000 eyes, Dr Cynthia Payne can answer your LASIK questions and determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. During an in-office consultation we can check your vision, map your corneas and measure corneal thickness.
We will discuss your goals and possible outcomes with a LASIK procedure.
A consultation allows us to answer any question you may have about the procedure for your eyes. We can then assist you with scheduling a pre-operative evaluation or discuss alternative options if you are not a LASIK candidate. Some alternative options are PRK, Ortho-K (CRT), contact lenses or eyeglasses.
