We solve “hard to fit” eye problems with specialty contact lenses designed for keratoconus, irregular corneas, post-surgical corneas, and treatment for severe dry eye. These contact lenses are custom-designed hard rigid gas permeable lenses (RGP) that either fit on the cornea or on the sclera of the eye to improve vision or protect the cornea. We also have hybrid contact lenses for specialty fits that may be appropriate for some patients. These contact lenses are an RGP in the center but surrounded by a soft lens skirt.
This can improve the comfort of the contact lens while also improving vision. These contact lenses are great options to treat presbyopia (decreased near vision over 40 years old), keratoconus, post-surgical, and other corneal irregularities.
We use specialty contact lenses to treat myopia (nearsighted) with both soft and Ortho-K RGP lenses. We also use specialty contact lenses for overnight corneal refractive therapy (CRT) to decrease the dependence on eyeglasses or contact lenses during the daytime.
